Responsibilities
- To coordinate the work of the mapping unit to ensure all maps and system updates are completed on schedule.
- Design and script innovative processes to automate GIS/RS analysis and production tasks.
- Take responsibility for quality assurance processes and outcomes.
- Implement the Small Camera Aerial Photography program and imagery processing.
- Develop mapping products and publishing solutions to support planning and field operations.
- Develop and maintain database storage systems to support data production, storage, maintenance and publishing using Manifold and RDBMS platforms such as Oracle Spatial or SQL Server
- Continuously improve the technical abilities of the unit.
Qualification
- Master Degree in GIS/Remote Sensing or a Master Degree in a natural resource management field with GIS/RS
- 3+ years Hands-on experience in the development and implementation of GIS/RS processes
- Familiarity with scripting languages, GIS APIs, Manifold System or RDBMS based GIS solutions a plus.
- Excellent technical communication and man management skills.
- Be able to identify and solve technical problems with little input and under pressure.
- Be a team player.
