Position with a multinational manufacturing company, with Corporate Office located in Mid Valley. This role will lead, manage, coordinate and provide timely and accurate financial accounting and general ledger shared services for the Asia Pacific region. Reporting to Financial Controller.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Processing accounting
- Provide timely and accurate financial processing for all legal entities in Asia-Pacific including Profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flows, Legal, management and tax reporting
- Maintains solid understanding of accounting and reporting authoritative literature (GAAP)
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable local GAAP for all legal entities and US GAAP for management reporting.
- Ensure proper GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and financial controls are implemented and adhered too
- Provides financial training to non-financial managers and personnel to improve financial accounting and reporting and general understanding of financial policies in the region.
2. Financial reporting, management and support
- Preparation, coordination and consolidation of periodic financial data
- Provides monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and documents significant account variances.
- Supports the analysis and explanation of financial performance
- Coordinates regional reporting and analysis for tax and treasury functions
- Responsible for capital expenditure authorization, controlling, and reporting
3. Managing and leading General Ledger Accounting Team
- Manages and leads a team
- Ensures continual development and teamwork
- Ensures adequate staffing levels and capabilities are maintained
- Ensure team provides timely and appropriate levels of internal and external customer service support
- Continuous improvement of productivity and processes
4. Projects
- Work on continuous improvement of routines and processes
- Continuous improvement of SAP and other automation tools to drive productivity
- Work on projects assigned by Asia Pacific Financial Manager
5. Direct and ensure statutory and tax reporting and compliance
- Coordinates filing annual accounts and audit of accounts
- Coordinates and supports statutory and tax returns
6. Business Partner support
- Assist company and affiliates, including liaison with customers and suppliers with legal and financial requirement
- Performs requisite administrative duties to support the business functions
- Assists the various departments in improving procedures, and monitoring and improving efficiency
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Business, Accounting or Economics
2. CA or CPA preferred including GAAP understanding
