- Experience with PHP (2-3 years) and ASP (1-2 years).
- Knowledge of object oriented programming, familiar with test-driven development and experience with unit testing.
- Should have worked with MySQL and be comfortable with SQL queries, optimization, and database design.
- Familiar with source code control (SVN/CVS).
- Experience with Cold Fusion, Java and Ruby on Rails is preferred (but not a prerequisite).
- Basic windows networking skills (ability to troubleshoot office network problems) as well as windows server admin familiarity.
- You will be perfectly fluent in English (in order to be able to communicate internationally).
- You will be capable of working with minimal supervision.
- You will be ambitious, and expect to work hard in order to develop your role within the business.
- Reporting to the Asia business manager in Malaysia, and the group IT director in Europe, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and enhancing existing database and web delivery systems.
- Acquiring a basic understanding of the other aspects of business (finance; research; legal) and making pro-active suggestions for future possible IT developments.
- Providing or commissioning basic front line IT support.
- Liaising with the company’s existing web developers and designers.
- Doing the actual coding/programming/what-it-is-you-need-to-do (do the work).
- Project management (plan, meet deadlines, show results).
- Understand the business and its strategic goals (learn more, make yourself a useful resource, progress further). |
