  • Description

  • Processing journals and general ledger maintenance as necessary, accurately and in a timely manner.

    Year End Audit reconciliations.

    Provide assistance with the following:

    Assisting the Finance Manager to ensure integrity of the General Ledger (coding accuracy).

    Assisting the Finance Manager with preparation of monthly management reports.

    Assisting the Finance Manager with budget input and monitoring.

    Assist with allocation of overheads to departments.

    Production of all financial reports in accordance with published time tables.

    Preparation of monthly closing entries along with critical account analysis and monthly GL reconciliations.

    Calculate inventory reserves.

    Review and report on PPV.

    Review and report on operational results providing in-depth analysis and explanations of manufacturing costs and variances analysis.

    Ensure inventory accuracy through reconciliation of inventory accounts and analysis of work in process and other material transactions.

    Participate in cycle count reviews and physical inventory counts.

    Review of current product cost and margins.

    Streamline monthly processes and propose new activities/technologies to add value to the business.

    Collaborate with team to develop costing mechanisms and implement controls for outsourced products.

    Prepare actual to forecast/budget variance analysis.

    Participate in the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process.

    Coordinates annual and internal audits

    Other special projects and analysis as required.

    This individual will be responsible for the preparation of monthly closing entries, account analysis and the maintenance of financial policies and controls.

    Ad hoc reporting, analysis and any other job as assigned from time to time

    Required Education and Experience

    The candidate should have a degree in accounting, with approximately 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and prior cost accounting experience.

    The candidate should be self-motivated with excellent time management skills

    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills coupled with the ability to develop automated processes to extract raw data from an ERP and convert to high quality management information are required

    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
