    The HOD reports to the Group CEO. He is responsible for exploring, identifying, evaluating and directing all the technology and technical activities within the companies. The incumbent is also responsible for technical support, troubleshooting and continuous product improvement and development.
    KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Strategy formulation & implementation
    • Assist Group CEO to develop plans for new areas of technology that support the implementation of the company’s vision and missions;
    • Responsible for the identify, review and evaluate of all new technologies;
    • Responsible for the preparation of all new feasibilities;
    • Contributes to the development, improvement and refinement of core business technology, product, equipment and services;
    • Assumes any other responsibility as directed by the Group CEO.
    Functions
    • Plans, manages, and oversees the daily functions, operations and activities of the TDT department;
    • Supports, coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the corporation in establishing and carrying out responsibilities;
    • Manages and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the company core business; recommends within the departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels; recommends and administers policies and procedures;
    • Manage and oversees research and development activities of the company;
    • Develops, standardizes and review procedures and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of project execution, implementation and engineering activities;
    • Plans and manages in the development and administration of departmental budgets;
    • Provide oversight of the due-diligence processes; evaluation of technology proposals and recommendation for business collaboration with technologists or principals;
    • Provide oversight of evaluation of contractor compliance with local and international standards and specifications; resolution of complex problems that may arise; recommends and approves field changes as required.
    • Conducts a variety of investigations and operational studies; recommends modifications to technology, equipment, policies and procedures, where appropriate;
    • Monitors changes in economic, business trend, regulations and technology that may affect business;
    • Receives, investigates, and responds to problems and complaints in a professional manner; identify and reports findings and takes necessary corrective action.
    • Training and continuing development to all departmental personnel.
    • Assists the CEO with special projects, as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    People management
    • Build and lead an effective and cohesive team;
    • Selects and maintains qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly and recommends compensation for them;
    • Participates in selection, training, motivation and evaluation of personnel under supervision; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline and termination procedures;
    • In consultation with HR, implement effective succession planning, people management, development, recruitment, and retention strategies for the department;
    • Manage the performance of all staff of the department through the formal KPI system;
    • Self-development and continuing personal development;
